Canine Designs all started with a great passion for dogs & drawing! I have studied art from a very young age & was encouraged to pursue drawing since grade school. In high school I was honored to be recommended for a position as a student for a semester at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I was accepted & at the end of the class was awarded the women's scholarship for outstanding work.  I then received an art scholarship to Winona State University.

Ever since then I have always drawn "on the side" for fun, but wanted to find my own niche in the art world. I started drawing specific dog breeds for a dog breeder friend who started her own business (TooChic.com) using original dog art for shirts etc.

The subject matter couldn't be better! Dogs! I LOVE DOGS! I have a dog myself; an absolutely spectacular German Shepherd named Griffin, that happens to appear on this web site.

In the past I had drawn friend's pets for them & the response was fantastic. We all know how we feel about our pets & how much we love to show them off & this was the perfect way! So "Canine Designs" became it - my way of being able to do what I love & to make people happy at the same time.
